Robert F. Palmerton, Jr., CMT
Mr. Palmerton has over 25 years experience in Corporate Finance. He has held positions as CFO, Director of Finance, and Financial Management and Analysis roles for Fortune 500 and multi-national firms (ADP, Honeywell, BOC Group) as well as for early-stage and emerging growth ventures (Online Tech and PeopleForce Solutions).
As founder and a key executive in startups and emerging-growth 
technology companies, Mr. Palmerton has raised equity and debt financing, and has focused on driving his ventures to scalable, profitable results. Mr. Palmerton has served as the Managing Director of Venturegrowers, LLC, a venture capital firm based in Ann Arbor, MI. Bob is a member of the Market Technician’s Association (MTA), where he was awarded the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation. He is actively involved in the MTA’s membership committee and building its knowledgebase of technical analysis and theory. His market analysis focuses on sector timing research, market sentiment and volatility studies, trend-following and breakout trading opportunities. Robert has been using a blend of technical and fundamental analysis for the past 15 years.
Bob received an MBA in Finance from the University of Michigan, and a BA in Economics and Statistics, summa cum laude, from Fordham University in New York. Mr. Palmerton holds a Series 65 license. Bob is a member of the Detroit Metastock User’s Group and The Detroit Chapter of the MTA.
In his spare time, Bob is a juried artist, specializing in painting landscapes with soft pastels and oils. Among Bob’s many subjects, his favorites include farm and woodland scenes throughout Southeast Michigan, the beaches and city street scenes of his native New York, and the mountains, rocks and streams found on hiking excursions on his frequent travels.
Puneet Gupta
Chief Investment Officer
Puneet Gupta was most recently an Investment Advisor Representative with H. Beck, Inc. Prior to his financial services career, Puneet has 16 years of experience in the Technology industry at Intel Corporation, where he held increasingly responsible roles in Supply Chain Management, Technology Development, and Program Management.
Puneet received his B. Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (Madras, India) and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Mr. Gupta holds a Series 7 and Series 66 license.
Puneet is an Associate of the Market Technician’s Association (MTA), where he is a Chartered Market Technician (CMT) Level 3 candidate. Mr. Gupta’s market analysis focuses on Elliott Wave technical studies, Price inflection forecasting, Cycle-superposition theory, inter-market relationships, and in developing and maintaining a coherent, holistic picture of the global economy and asset classes.
Intel is where Puneet honed his engineering, innovation, methodology/systems development, data analysis, and risk management skills and is where he developed a habit of persevering in digging until he found an intellectually satisfactory answer to the problems he was trying to research and solve. His Electrical Engineering training him gave him the knack of finding and exploiting signals amongst the noise in large sets of data. These skills have served him well in the Financial world and in the pioneering field of Absolute Return investment management. Puneet developed a passion for the financial markets during his quest to learn from the “mistake” of selling his home in the Bay Area in 2003, right before home prices rose 50% in 3 years. He took a “deep-dive” into finance and economics in a 2-month sabbatical while he still worked at Intel. During this quest, he developed a suspicion of “Efficient Markets” and any applications of the theory. He saw the markets as being non-linear and emotion driven rather than rational, and gravitated towards fractal models rather than gaussian ones. Since then he has focused on developing objective technical models for asset prices and a comprehensive, scalable methodology for Absolute Return Portfolio Management. His desire is to bring Absolute Return into the financial mainstream and offer it as a core investment option for the $1000 investor, and to help people’s investments through what he sees as being a historic period of economic tumult.
Puneet lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan with his lovely wife and 5 beautiful daughters. When one of his daughters was 4 years old, she christened Daddy’s work as being “Price and Precise”. Little did she know that is exactly the quest Daddy was on, i.e. to develop a precise timing model for asset prices. His little girls hope to help their Daddy analyze the squiggly charts some day and that someday could be coming up pretty soon given how smart they are and how well their mother is homeschooling them.
